We offer one on one lessons in piano, acoustic, electric, and bass guitar, ukulele, voice, violin, percussion (drum set) and woodwinds!
Starting ages vary by instrument, but no age is too old to start!
*First grade is the minimum starting age for private piano lessons. Seventh grade minimum for private voice students.
* We recommend purchasing a guitar or violin from an in-person retailer who can help you select an instrument that is an appropriate size for your student.
Fall semester dates:
August 1: Registration Opens
September 2: First day of lessons and classes
November 25-29: Closed for Thanksgiving
December 8-12: Last week of lessons and classes
December 14: Big recitals
December 15-19: Student-cancelled makeup lessons and mini-recitals
December 21-January 4: Winter Break
Fall semester tuition of 4 installments of $130 covers 13 half-hour lessons. There are 14 lessons on the calendar so that each teacher may cancel one lesson without needing a makeup. Makeups for student-cancelled lessons will be Dec. 15-19.

This weekly 35-minute class is designed for students ages 6 months to 5 years old and a parent/ caregiver. We will explore music using movement and percussion instruments. Parents: no musical experience necessary! This class is made for fun while establishing foundational musical skills! An individual instrument kit is included in the $25 registration fee (per child), so each child has their own set of materials.

Kinder Keys

Kinder Keys is a playful and engaging piano class designed for young beginners. Students will explore the keyboard, learn note names, discover fun new sounds, and develop fine motor skills through age-appropriate activities. With gentle structure and creative exercises, children begin building musical discipline while fostering a love for music from the very first note.

Designed for students who aren't quite ready for private lessons, this class will explore steady beat, note values, the concepts of notes and rests, keyboard geography, and more! After this class, students will be ready for lessons in piano, or another instrument!

Musical Theater

Designed for young performers, this class blends music, drama, and movement in a fun and supportive environment. Students will learn how to project their voices, express emotions on stage, play engaging theatre games, and work as part of an ensemble. The program encourages confidence, creativity, and collaboration—skills that go beyond the stage!

Homeschool Elementary Music
Thursdays at 1:00 PM-1:45 PM

Students will sing, dance, play instruments, compose, improvise, and learn the fundamentals of music (including steady beat, rhythm, pitch, dynamics, and timbre). Students will learn about composers and the role of music in society.

Intro to Instruments

Hanover Youth Singers

This is the perfect way for young singers to gain experience and learn correct vocal technique. The chorus will sing varied repertoire in unison and in parts. They perform at Mosley Music recitals and other venues in the community. Some notable performances are: Richmond Flying Squirrels Baseball Game, Hanover v. Atlee Varsity Basketball game, Atlee Little League opening day ceremony, swim meets.

Children with Disabilities

Music can be a powerful tool for children with disabilities, supporting communication, self-expression, social interaction, motor skills, and confidence. This class offers a supportive and engaging environment where every child can experience the joy of music while developing important skills that extend beyond the classroom.
Instruction is tailored to each student’s strengths, interests, and needs, with adapted materials and instruments to ensure accessibility. Children will explore a variety of musical experiences, including singing, movement, playing instruments, ensembleship, music literacy, and listening to different musical genres.
Parental or caregiver involvement is required for the first few classes and strongly encouraged throughout, helping to create a collaborative and comfortable learning environment.

Group Ukulele
Grades 3-6

Strum, sing, and smile in this fun and interactive group ukulele class! Perfect for beginners, this course introduces students to basic chords, strumming patterns, and simple songs while building confidence and musical skills in a supportive group setting. Students will learn to play familiar tunes, read chord charts, and even explore songwriting basics—all while enjoying the social and creative benefits of making music together. Students must provide their own ukuleles.

Music Fundamentals for Homeschool Students
Grades 8-12

Introducing students to the study of music. Students will be presented the foundational elements of musical study beyond the practice of their instruments. Topics will include: theory and aural skills, keyboard skills, music history and appreciation, & more! Cost: $65/month

Adults and High School Students
Instructor: John White
A course designed to expand upon the fundamentals of music performance and theory to help students in a range of practical musical settings. Students will be coached on a number of exercises to develop their understanding of harmony and keyboard fluency as well as performance techniques for auditions, rehearsals, and repertoire.
Reading music required, previous piano instruction recommended.

A class for the established beginner to intermediate guitarist focusing on developing the performance goals and musical interests of the class. Class members will expand upon their fretboard facility through introductory theory (scales and harmony) to broaden their approach to playing a number of different styles.

Jam with a Pro
Adults Only
4th Tuesdays 7:00-8:00 PM
This monthly jam session led by Paul Bakeman is for adult musicians at ANY level as long as you know 4 chords! Participants will receive a packet of chord charts in advance and will play some greatest hits while learning performance tips and music trivia! Open to guitar, uke, bass, drums, and keys.
