Summer Music Camps

Summer Camp 2022

Preschool Music and Movement with Melissa Reynol

(Ages 3-5) June 6-10

NEW! July 18-22

We will explore the world of music through singing, listening, dancing, moving our bodies, and playing instruments. Preschoolers will use shaky eggs, jingle bells, scarves, bean bags, parachutes, and more to learn fun and silly songs. Each day of camp will have a theme (Down On the Farm, At the Beach, etc). We will sing and play songs related to that theme. Come make some music and have some fun!  *Campers must be potty trained.

Active Music with Mara Smith (FULL)

(Grades K-5)  June 20-24

In Active Music! K-5 students will learn about musical concepts such as rhythm, instrument identification, and musical creation through games, group challenges, and outdoor activities. This week will be all about using that summer energy to get young students excited about making music with their friends

Making Music through STEAM and Storytelling with Mara Smith

(Grades K-5) June 27-July 1

Participants will leave camp with an understanding of basic storytelling skills, from deriving plot to exploring characters through improvisation and dramatic expression. Campers will engage with the creative process by turning found objects into tools, props, and instruments for individual and collaborative storytelling. Participants will be encouraged to recognize which part of the storytelling process appeals to them most, and will dive into the basic elements of music and movement.

Intro to Ukulele with Kacey O'Kelly

(Grades 2-6)  July 11-15

This camp is designed for students who have never played the ukulele at all and those who might have some experience playing, but want to go a little deeper. We will learn strumming patterns and chords as well as how to play melodies by reading notes and tabs. Bring your own ukulele and let's have some fun!

On Broadway! with Emily Mosley Payne

(Grades 6-12) July 25-29

Find your voice and have a blast singing the hits from your favorite Broadway shows with your friends old and new! This exploration of musical theatre will allow students to learn about the history of Broadway, along with vocal technique and performance tips! Students will have opportunities for ensemble and solo/ duet performances. The week will culminate with a small musical revue.

Show Choir Camp with Josie Lynn

August 8-12 (Grades K-3)

August 15-19 (Grades 4-6)

Show choir camp is open to students who are interested in singing and performing. We will focus on learning to sing as a group, using our voices in a healthy way, and learning choreography to compliment our sound. This class is a fun introduction to students who love to sing but may not be used to singing in a choir, as well as a good challenge for students who have been singing in choir for years. We will learn a short show and perform it at the end of the week!
